Though the number of SUV rollover fatalities continues to escalate, but SUVs are not being manufactured to better resist rollover crashes. Not a single SUV earned the federal agency's highest safety rating, according to an NHTSA report in 2003. However, SUV consumption has increased: SUV popularity created a large increase in sales in the 1990s, and because of high consumer demand for these cars, car makers continue to manufacture SUVs.
In the past they had some issues around EPA approval and they were in a pickle to grow a network of dealers because the car manufacturers didn't want to work with them. It must have taken the recent downturn and the almost total collapse of SUV and truck sle oget a litte oreopn inedtwad ecnooges viabe ihtno. uthanEnerrie sndmeth ltst pdae elo tday ad ee nyod iteesed nway t rdue a mlegewol wn t sayup odae. ralzetht dopin ane ecnoog tat as't been approved by any large manufacturer is tough. This is a sign that times might change. I don't believe the claim about the price, as mass production should actually lower it. I don't think buyers will pay $3000 - $4000 more for a truck with the system installed. With larger production numbers prices typically go down. Dutchman probably wouldn't want that, but if they can make a profit with the current prices.
Many manufacturers claim that their car covers are 100% waterproof. Really?... Even the ones that are constructed of cotton and wool? It would seem so according to the salesmen and the brochures. Let's put it to the test using my coats.
The new Honda Pilot is definitely safe. It was given 5 stars in both the front and side crash test ratings in tests conducted by the government and earned a very good 4 stars for rollover. When there's a family inside, that's important. It can comfortably hold eight people. There's a 5-speed automatic transmission and a 3.5 liter engine, with the capability to shut down half the cylinders for increased fuel economy. The overall rating of the Honda Pilot is 19 mpg. It carries the features you'd expect, with stability, traction control, and antilock brakes, all for a base price of just over $28,000.
